Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Saturday claimed that the Sindh police have arrested seven persons allegedly involved in targeted killings during the last 10 days. He was speaking at a press conference where CCPO Karachi Saud Mirza was also present. Memon said that some 66 people were murdered while 23 persons including policemen had fallen prey to the spate of targeted killings in the metropolis.
He said the provincial government was in touch with the police and the rangers to maintain peace in the city. The Minister said that most of the cases of targeted killings were witnessed at Orangi Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gaddap, New Karachi, Liaquatabad, Saddar, Malir and Shah Faisal Colony and added that police and rangers have started joint operation in these areas against outlaws. He said that 15 other alleged terrorists associated with various groups had also been arrested during last 10 days.
