Many variations were seen on the wholesales grain market on Saturday as buyers were active in covering the short positions, dealers said. On the grams side guwar Sindh low type was up by Rs 160 to Rs 4700 and better type was higher by Rs 20 to Rs 4800, guwar Punjab gained Rs 100 to Rs 4600-4700.
Gram Australia low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 4500 and good type shed Rs 50 to Rs 4750, gram dal Australia fell by Rs 300 to 5000-5200, grams 50x50 low quality retained its overnight level at Rs 4800 and good type was higher by Rs 100 to Rs 5100, yellow peas Ukraine low type shed Rs 80 to Rs 3570 and best quality followed the same path, losing Rs 125 to Rs 3725, yellow peas dal Ukraine lost Rs 100 to Rs 3675-4075. Bajra inferior type was inert at Rs 2500 and good type was lower by Rs 100 to 2900, they added.
On the cereal side gur picked up Rs 100 to Rs 5500-6300, Juwar after maintaining a stable trend for several weeks, was quoted higher at Rs 2425, wheat old Bardan and wheat new Bardan slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 2360 and 2375, respectively, other items remained unchanged mainly because of balanced demand and supply factor, they said.
On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 3340 while the best type retained the overnight level at Rs 3400, they said. On the seeds side cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type was up by Rs 5 to Rs 1325 while the good type did not show any change at Rs 1380 and cake low type lost Rs 200 to Rs 3300 and better type shed Rs 100 to Rs 3700, they said.
