Nishat Group owns two power plants at Mehmood Kot District Muzaffargarh: LAL PIR Power Limited and Pak Gen Power Limited. Both plants were set up under the energy policy (1994) of the Government of Pakistan and have operated commercially since November 1997 and February 1998 respectively, with the installed capacity of 362 MW and 365 MW respectively.
