The Karachi Port handled 90,205 tonnes of cargo including 55,990 tonnes of import cargo, 34,215 tonnes of export cargo and 3,728 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 55,990 tonnes comprised of 19,970 tonnes of containerised cargo; 31 tonnes of general cargo; 19,310 tonnes of coal and 16,679 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,215 tonnes comprised of 18,144 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,283 tonnes of general cargo; 14,788 tonnes of bulk cargo: 780 tonnes of wheat; 2,900 tonnes of cement; 9,200 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 1,908 tonnes of sand.
Six ships namely Glen Canyon, Alexi-1, Adventure, Cap Graham, Silver Zone and Royal Jasper with container ship, bulk cargo carrier, oil tanker, two container ships and oil tanker sailed out to sea during the reported period. Five vessels viz Silver Zone, TS Tokyo, American Tern, CSL Ride and Ginga Falcon carrying four container ships and chemicals carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Ginga Falcon, EMA Querida, UBC Cyprus and TS Tokyo with chemicals carrier, oil tanker, cement carrier and container ship respectively expected to sail on Friday, while four ships namely Qatar Spirit, Arikun, Cardonia and CSL Ride carrying coal carrier, sand carrier and two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
Six vessels viz MT Karachi, Chem Hydra, OOCL Charleston, Cardonia, APL Chicago and Hopeful with crude oil, lube oil tanker, three container ships and steel coils respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz OEL Trust, Taban-1, MOL Success, Liberty Pride and Haj Khalil with three container ships, vehicles carrier and rock phosphate respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A total number of six vessels viz CV Saigon Express, CV CSAV Jura, MV Commodore, MV Wales-II, MV Sea Lark and MT Mako are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, wheat and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Seven ships namely Al-Soor-II, Rana, Al-Salam-II, Never Land, Glory, MSC Magali and Kasugta carrying diesel oil, cement, diesel oil, furnace oil, two container ships and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Glory, CV MSC Magali, MT Kasugta and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers, chemicals and diesel oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
