Railway Cricket Academy launched

Railway Cricket Academy has been formally launched on Friday in a bid to groom the talent within the organisation to produce talented cricketers. While addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Railway Cricket Academy at Railway School and College Engine Shed Colony, Pakistan Railway Sports Board's Sports Officer Rashad Mehmood Butt, said.
"The importance of physical fitness needs no over-emphasis. Sports play a significance role not only in development of a person but are vital for the overall well being of a nation. Sportsmen promote national cohesion and fraternity and also divert the attention of masses towards healthier activities." Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Federal Minister for Railways, is the inspiration behind this Academy, he added.
Butt said Railway Minister, GM Railways are serious about sports promotion in Railway and they are doing their best to enhance activity of sports with likeable packages for the players. ICC Award holder Malik Sarwar Mehmood said: "Every one knows Pakistan is extremely rich when it comes to talent in various sports particularly cricket. Through the provision of adequate resources and proper coaching facilities this talent can be groomed and fine athletes and sportsmen could be produced. Railways Cricket Academy will provide future stars."
