Shanghai copper up

Published Updated

The most active Shanghai copper contract, June, rose 0.6 percent to 71,480 yuan on Thursday. Chinese refined copper imports recovered 22 percent from February to 192,161 tonnes, but were still down around 20 percent from January. Imports in February were depressed by the week-long Lunar New Year holiday and unattractive spot margins. Chinese markets will remain open during the LME Easter break.
