Two including PPP activist killed

At least two persons including an activist of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) were gunned down in separate incidents at various parts of metropolis here on Thursday. According to details, an activist of PPP was shot dead at Rizwan Society, Gulshan Iqbal within the limits of Sacchal police station.
The victim 25-year-old Mirza Noman Baig son of Mirza Maqsood Baig, a resident of Rizwan Society, was targeted when he was on his motorcycle near his house. Resultantly he received two bullets and was rushed to nearby hospital where he took last gasp. Later the body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities. Police said that it might be targeted killing as his cousin an activist of MQM Mirza Imran Baig alias Immi was killed in the same manner.
The motive behind his murder was yet to be ascertained, while police were of the view that the victim and his cousin might be murdered over personal enmity. Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary Information of PPP Sohail Abdi condemned the said incident and added that the victim was an active worker of PPP PS-126. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, an Afghan trash collector was shot dead at Nishtar Road Ramzan Garden in the limits of Nabi Bux police station. The victim 23-year-old Khalid son of Sami Khan, who was busy in his job at old city area, was hit by the bullets of unidentified armed men. Resultantly he sustained fatal bullets wounds and succumbed to his injuries at Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) during treatment. Police said the victim, who hailed from Afghanistan, was trash collector and added that the victim might be murdered on ethnic ground. Later, the body was shifted to Edhi morgue while police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
