At least three persons including a woman were killed in different mishaps at various parts of the metropolis here on Thursday. According to details, a woman was stabbed to death by her husband at Jummah Goth within the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station. The victim 28-year-old Khadija wife of Jaffar, who left Jaffar's house over domestic disputes and living in her parents' house in the same area, was stabbed to death by her husband after serious quarrel.
Police shifted her to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medical treatment where she succumbed to her injuries while her husband managed to flee. Police said the victim was the mother of two kids and her husband was a labour by his profession.
A case 302/11 was registered under section 302 against Jaffar. A two-day old drowned body was found in Lyari Naddi in the limits of Sher Shah police station.
The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while police recovered his body in Lyari Naddi near Akbar Shah Road Sher Shah. The body, which had several torture marks, was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post-mortem. Later the body was moved to Edhi Morgue for identification. Police registered a case against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
A 17-year-old young man, who got injured along with five others in grenade attack at the real estate agency of Habib Jan Baloch in the limits of Nepiar police station on March 19, 2011, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. According to station officer of Napier police station, the victim Dheraj Lal son of Juman Lal was a passer-by and received severe injuries in this incident. He said the victim, who was rushed to private hospital for treatment, succumbed to his injuries after 32 days of incident.
Needless to mention, at around 2:45pm of March 19, 2011, two unidentified pillion riders, who intended to target Habib Baloch, a leader of PPP, threw hand-grenade at real estate agency of his sibling Mujahid where Baloch used to visit daily, leaving six persons including Mujahid, Pir Muhammad, Umar Rafiq, Arif, Dheraj Lal and Salman injured. However, Habib Baloch remained unhurt in this attack.
