Pesco registers 835 FIRs, recovers Rs 625 million from defaulters

Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) arrested dozens of power thieves in crackdown and registered 835 FIRs and recovered an amount of Rs 625 million from defaulters during last two weeks. The company also removed 5000 direct hooks in the operation.
This was told by Chief Executive, Pesco while briefing the meeting of the Board of Directors here at Wapda House. Chairman BoD, Hassam-ud-Din Bangash presided over the meeting. Those who attended included Chief Executive PESCO, Mohammad Wali, Syed Imtiaz Hussein Gilani, Professor Dr Mohammad Qasim Jan, Mohammad Raziuddin, Nauman Wazir, Syed Ishfaq Hussein, Haji Mohammad Sharif, Deputy General Manager, Finance, PESCO Anwar-ul-Haq Yousafzai, Sardar Mohammad Tariq and Dr Asmat Nawaz.
Anwar-ul-Haq Yousafzai, Company Secretary presented a comprehensive report about the minutes of 55th and 56th meetings and after detailed discussion Board of Directors approved them. In order to overcome the low voltage and over loading problems and to make the distribution system smooth and stable, the board of directors approved purchase of 4 power transformers of 20/26 MVA for the betterment of electricity supply system and bifurcation of 11 kv Toorming-2 feeder.
