The executive body of the Federal Revenue Alliance Employees Union (CBA) has reiterated its demand that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) should hold an enquiry into the illegal use of vehicles in the Regional Tax Office (RTO), Lahore, and other offices of the Board.
The demand was raised in a meeting of the Executive Body held here on Wednesday with the President of the Union Abdul Qayyum in the chair. The union representatives discussed problems being faced by the employees and behaviour of certain officials. It was noticed with great concern that still unauthorised use of office vehicle is continuing. The extra vehicles, provided for Operational purpose is never used for the it; rather these vehicles are used by most of the Additional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners who are not officially authorised by the government.
Union President Lahore RTO Naeem Abbas Shah also reported that recently orders of the Board about the issuance of waiting list of Qualified Inspectors was a clear violation of the instructions of the Member Legal. Chairman, FBR, and Chief, Management are requested to look into the matter and necessary action may be taken to resolve the issue of employees who are facing problems due to harsh behaviour of the said officers. Their motto is only to create problems for the promotions of employees. He also intimated to the body about violations in award of contract of canteen.
It was unanimously decided that a notice be issued to Chief Commissioner RTO-I about the Cafeteria. A fresh bid may be called and SOP may be observed and a representative from Employees Union may be present during the tender process who can watch the interest of the low paid employees. Otherwise a total boycott will be made till new bids. President, Abdul Qayum, also visited others buildings used for office purpose at Lahore and watched the poor condition of furniture facilities provided there for employees.
