Director General of Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) Qazi Laeeq has urged the residential plot owners of the Zone 3 and 4 of the Regi Model Town to start construction work saying the authority would fully facilitate them. Talking to mediapersons here at Regi Model Town, he said that the authority has finalised arrangements for the provision of electricity and water to the residents of the town.
He added that a police station in Zone 4 of the township is also being established to guarantee security to the intending residents. Project Director Shamimullah, President Peshawar Press Club (PPC), Saiful Islam Saifi, and a large number of journalists were present on the occasion.
Laeeq said that the authority is giving possession letters to the owners of plots in Zone 3 and 4 of the scheme. He further said that the dispute with the tribesmen would be resolved and the portion of the settled area would be evacuated by force to pave the way for the establishment of the town.
Talking about development on the Durrani Media Colony, he said that the project would be completed within next 12 to 18 months. He said that Rs 90 million had already been spent on the scheme, while the remaining funds would be released shortly. Laeeq said that the provincial government is likely to initiate work on the damaged road from Charsada to Pajgai in the next financial year while Pajgai to Nasir Bagh road would be initiated in the second phase. Regarding the provision of Sui Gas to Regi Model Town, he said that Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has estimated a cost of Rs 1.5 billion for the scheme.
