Islamabad Police have nabbed 38 proclaimed offenders and court absconders during its ongoing anti-outlaws crackdown started to ensure the arrest of criminals involved in crimes of heinous nature, said Naeem Iqbal Spokesman of Islamabad Police, here on Monday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani had assigned the task to all SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders and keep him updated daily regarding success of the special crackdown, the spokesman said. He said that in compliance with the directives of the IGP, all police stations of the capital have started their efforts to arrest outlaws and a total of 38 proclaimed offenders and court absconders have been apprehended during the last 15 days.
SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan also issued directives to make the campaign a success, as the performance of police station in-charges would be further reviewed soon in this regard. He said that no one is above the law. Islamabad Police on Monday arrested six outlaws and seized wine and illegal weapons. On a tip-off CIA Police raided sector G-8 and arrested Khuram Shehzad Maseeh for having 110 wine bottles. His two accomplices Younus Maseeh and Kashi escaped from the scene and police team has been constituted for their earliest arrest.
Secretariat and Aabpara Police nabbed Zeeshan Akhtar and Waqar Hussain for having five wine bottles while sub-inspector Ghulam Shabbir from Tarnol police station apprehended an accused Imran for having 30 bore pistol. Shehzad Town Police nabbed Ayaz Khan for having 30 bore pistol.
