The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday declared the arrest orders of Zain Iftikhar Sukhera null and void. Justice Muhammad Anwar Khan Kasi of IHC resumed hearing of the petition filed by Zain Sukhera under section 561 to quash a First Investigation Report (FIR) registered against him for having a fake degree. Abdul Aziz counsel for Sukkehra apprised the court that his client has a genuine LLB degree, which has not been declared bogus by Bahau-Ud-Din Zakria University.
He requested the court for presenting Multan High Court verdict before it regarding the record of Bahau-Ud-Din Zakria University adding that Police could not arrest Sukhera till April 25 as he is on interim bail from trail court. He prayed for declaring invalid the FIR lodged against Sukhera and also requested the court to direct the FIA not to arrest him. After hearing these arguments, the bench declared arrest orders null and void during the course of investigation and adjourned the hearing till April 20.
