The Board of Studies, University of Health Sciences (UHS) has approved the schedule for MBBS professional examinations for session 2010-11. The 21st meeting of UHS Board of Studies was held here on Monday. Principal Nishtar Medical College Multan, Professor Laiq Hussain chaired the meeting.
According to the schedule, first professional part-I examinations shall commence in the third week of October, first professional part-II in third week of September, second and third professional exams in first week of November and final professional exams to start in the last week of December this year.
The board also approved the introduction of mandatory Basic Life Support courses for medical students in collaboration with Institute of Learning Emergency Medicine, accredited by Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council of Ireland. Medical students will be required to have certification in these courses and will be examined in their final professional practical examinations as well. The board also agreed to the inclusion of essential component of social responsibility in the curriculum of MBBS.
