Bodies of eight unidentified persons were recovered from a deserted well near Attock Haji Shahroad, eight kilometre away from here on Sunday morning, police said. Police was informed about the bodies of the persons aged between 22 to 32 years by a resident of the area on telephone, which later recovered and shifted them to DHQ Hospital, Attock for post-mortem.
District Police Officer Attock, Dr Akhtar Abbas told newsmen that the persons were probably killed at some other place almost four days ago and later their bodies were thrown in the well. On their body search, no clue was found about their identification. The DPO said that that all the killed persons were bearded and it seems that they were not residents of the district.
To a question, Dr Akhtar said that apparently, this was not a terrorist act and further investigation is underway. He said that the exact cause of the deaths could be ascertained after autopsy.
