The Karachi Port handled 94,661 tonnes of cargo including 42,100 tonnes of import cargo, 52,561 tonnes of export cargo and 3,399 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 42,100 tonnes comprised of 12,231 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,061 tonnes of general cargo; 1,167 tonnes of sulphur and 24,641 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,561 tonnes comprised of 41,524 tonnes of containerised cargo; 645 tonnes of general cargo; 2,992 tonnes of cement and 7,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely FSL Singapore, Jakarta Express, Prestige New York and Hanjin Paris with oil tanker, container ship, vehicle carrier and container ship sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Al-Saada, Dl Sunflower, Pacific Express, Fatima and Prestige New York carrying base oil carrier, naphtha, steel & general cargo carrier, sulphur and vehicle carrier respectively are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Pacific Express, Dl Sunflower, CSL Ride and Trave Trader with general cargo carrier, oil tanker and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Friday, while another ship namely Al-Saada carrying oil tanker is expected to sail on Saturday.
Three vessels viz APL Sharjah, TS Jakarta and Bao An Cheng with two container ships and general cargo carrier respectively due to arrive on Friday, while five vessels viz Adventure, Abtin-1, Ital Onesta, Tarpon Clipper and Hangaard Scan with jet oil, three container ships, project cargo and general cargo carrier respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A total number of nine vessels viz CV New Delhi Express, CV Santa Paola, CV MSC Sena, CV MSC Magali, MV Orient-III, MV Wales-II, MV War Now Sun, MV Genmar Compatriot and MT Global Challenge are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Green Line, Al-Soor-II, Saudi Abha, Anvil Point, Glory and BBC Nord Land carrying cement, diesel oil, three container ships and project cargo respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz Saudi Abha, Glory, Anvil Point and BBC Nord Land scheduled to load/offload containers and project cargo respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Friday.
