Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 74,802 tonnes of cargo including 51,042 tonnes of import cargo, 23,760 tonnes of export cargo and 4,830 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 51,042 tonnes comprised of 40,542 tonnes of containerised cargo and 10,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,760 tonnes comprised of 16,660 tonnes of containerised cargo; 782 tonnes of general cargo; 4,818 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,653 tonnes of cement; 1,165 tonnes of wheat and 1,500 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Patriotic, AS Ophelia, Al-Khaliq, Bux Melody, Abdullalatif-S and President Jackson with chemicals carrier, naphtha, wheat carrier, container ship, cement carrier and container ship sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Five vessels viz Trave Trader, Hanjin Paris, Jakarta Express, CSL Ride and FSL Singapore carrying four container ships and mogas respectively are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Hanjin Paris and FSL Singapore with container ship and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Thursday, while five ships namely Jakarta Express, Prestige New York, Pacific Express, CSL Ride and Trave Trader carrying container ship, two general cargo carriers and two container ships respectively are expected to sail on Friday.
Two vessels viz Omera Queen and Prestige New York with crude oil tanker and vehicle carrier respectively due to arrive on Thursday, while five vessels viz Abtin-1, APL Sharjah, TS Jakarta, Bao An Cheng and Admire Coral with three container ships and two general cargo carriers respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

Two container ships namely CV Izumo and CV CGM Verdi sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely MT Asia Star and MV Patriotic carrying liquid cargo and chemicals are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of ten vessels viz CV Izumo, CV CGM Verdi, CV MSC Magali, MV Wales-II, MV Orient-II, MV Warnow Sun, MT Al-Azizoo, MV Patriotic, MV Genmar Compatriot and MT Asia Star are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, furnace oil, chemicals, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Green Line, Al-Soor-II, Global Challenge, MSC Sena, New Delhi Express and Santa Paola carrying cement, diesel oil and three container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz MSC Sena, Santa Paola, New Delhi Express and Global Challenge scheduled to load/offload containers and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.
