Lean business was seen on the wholesale grain market on Monday as buyers were conspicuous by their absence, dealers said. On the cereal side makai was down by Rs 125 to Rs 2750-2875. Barley Sindh and Mardan followed the same pattern, losing Rs 400 to Rs 2500, other items were unmoved due to steady arrivals from the upcountry centres, they said.
On the rice sector Irri-6 sindh low type retained weekend level at Rs 3320 while the good type gained Rs 400 to Rs 3400, Irri-white (broken) followed the same pattern as the inferior quality picked up Rs 150 to Rs 2800, while the superior type was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 2850, they said. Seeds and grams sectors did not move any side in lacklustre trading, they said.
