President SCA condemns imposition of tax on agriculture inputs
Dr Syed Nadeem Qamar, President Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, while presiding the SCA meeting held on 8/4/2011 condemned the imposition of tax on agricultural produce, directly or indirectly which he described as an attempt of those who don't want progress of agriculture.
Muhammad Anwar Bachani, General Secretary, SCA briefed the participants about the imposition of tax on agriculture by the Government. Vice Chairman of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association Mian Rashid Mahmood informed about his struggle to inform the Government authorities regarding the adverse effect of tax on agriculture.
Abdul Majeed Nizamani, President, Sindh Abadgar Board, gave a detailed brief on cost of production of major and minor crops. His figures were justified and farmer is hardly saving for his survival. Zaheeruddin from chamber of commerce was also of the same view that tax on agriculture is unjustified and assured for all support from chamber of commerce to farmers. All the participants from the entire organisation described the tax on agriculture as a move against the progress of agriculture and economy of the country.
