Effective, friendly policing: SHO-rank officers to perform duties in every area
Two police officers of inspector rank with the status of additional Station House Officer (SHO) will perform security duties in the jurisdiction of each police station in Islamabad along-with their special staff, besides SHO and other patrolling teams to ensure effective security and friendly policing.
This was decided in a high level meeting presided by Senior Superintendent of Police Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan. The meeting was informed that jurisdiction of every police station has been divided into two beats and officer of inspector rank with the status of additional SHO will be the beat in-charge. Each beat in-charge will co-operate with the SHO of relevant police station to curb crime and ensure effective policing. The in-charge will be responsible for law and order situation in his area and would be provided vehicles, strength and other resources in this regard.
Beat officers and Additional SHOs of Aabpara police station include inspectors Fazal Abbass, Tariq Mehmud, Kohsar police station's beat officers include Inspector Muhammad Shareef Kiani and Imtiaz Lashari, Secretariat Police station's beat officer include inspector Farooq Ahmed Niazi and Inspector Najeeb Hassan Shah, Bhara Kau's beat officers are Inspectors Abdul Razzaq and Muhammad Akhtar and inspectors Muhammad Aslam and Ghulam Rasool have been appointed as beat officers in Margallah police station. Similarly, inspector Muhammad Ameer and Ghulam Mustafa as beat officers in Shalimar police station, inspectors Ghulam Mustafa and Ghulam Abbass in Golra police station, Inspectors Muhammad Yusuf and Bashir Ahmed Niazi in Industrial area police station.
Inspectors Muhammad Sher and Nazar Muhammad have been appointed in Sabzi Mandi police station, inspector Muhammad Sarfraz in Shehzad town police station, Inspectors Imtiaz Hussain Shah and Abid Hussain in Koral police station, Inspectors Muhammad Irshad and Abdul Hameed in Sihala police station, Inspector Abdul Ghaffar in Nilore police station while Inspector Ghulam Shabbir and Aashiq Khan have been appointed as beat officers in Tarnol police station area.
The SSP said that the division has been made following the directives of IGP Islamabad with the sole aim to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and combat crime effectively. He said those disturbing peace of the city will not be spared and police along-with community will make every possible effort for making the city `more secure'. He pledged to resolve the complaints of citizens on priority basis and adopt courteous attitude with them in this regard.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent Police (Saddar) Dr Khurram Rasheed, SP (Legal) Javed Iqbal, DSP Security Altaf Aziz Khattak, DSP (Saddar) Malik Tahir Mehmud, DSP (Secretariat) Habib Ullah Khan Niazi, DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon, all SHOs, newly appointed Additional SHOs (Beat Officers) and Muharrarf staff.
