While taking stern action against the alleged misconduct, fake signatures, unethical behaviour, especially, harassing female colleagues and other similar sort of complaints, the management of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has removed the services of DG BISP Sindh Akbar Aleem Shamim with immediate effect.
The services of said removed officer have been referred to establishment division as well. BISP is a Programme to serve the poor and downtrodden segments of society, which is also the only Programme in the social sector of the country that works as compressive social safety net.
Therefore, the transparency, neutrality and non-political nature are the hallmark of this initiative and there is zero tolerance policy has been envisaged for any sort of corruption or misconduct at every level of the Programme.
Besides, various other initiatives aiming at poverty alleviation, at present providing financial assistance to more than 4 million women throughout Pakistan. It's worth mentioning here that due to transparent mechanism adopted by the management of BISP, the Programme has not gained across the board support within Pakistan but various prestigious international organisations have also posed their full confidence in the Programme.
The step of removal of DG BISP Sindh is self-evidentiary of the fact that transparent mechanisms of the Programme has been ensured and any sort of misconduct or inappropriate behaviour would not be tolerated to keep the integrity and transparent nature of the Programme intact.-PR
