CID arrests two suspected TTP militants

The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of police on Friday claimed to have arrested two militants of banned Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered weapons from their possessions. SSP CID Fayyaz Khan said a police party on a tip-off conducted a raid at Sohrab Goth and arrested two militants namely Shakeel alias Goli and Mohammad Shareef alias Zareef alias Malang and recovered two TT pistols from their possessions.
He said the group, which involved in targeted killing incidents in the metropolis, was also collecting extortion from those traders, who belonged to Mohmand Agency. He said that Qari Shakeel Khan, who joined TTP in 2008, headed the group in Karachi after being trained in Afghanistan.
He said the accused during initial investigation admitted that they along with their other alleged accomplices Sajjad alias Chota and Yousuf alias Ganja killed a trader Jan Mohammad at Sohrab Goth on his refusal to pay extortion money to them. He claimed to have recovered from them a hit list of political workers and traders and added that they were also planning to carry out bomb blast in metropolis.
