China shares fall to fresh 33-month closing low

China's annual policy-setting economic work conference started on Monday and ends on Wednesday.

Analysts said investors were worried about market liquidity as funds have been diverted to several IPO subscriptions, such as New China Life Insurance.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index finished down at 2,248.6 points, after falling 1.0 percent on Monday.
