School sports gala was inaugurated at POF Sports Complex on the special instructions of Chairman POF Board. Brigadier Fiaz Mehmood Qamar was the chief guest on the occasion, says a press release received here on Tuesday. Brigadier Ishtiaqe CO-POF Hospital, Colonel Tahir Mehmood GSO-I, Colonel Tariq Shad CO-DSG, Noor-ul-Sabah Principal Sir Syed School, Colonel Hafeez Dar (Retd) Principal Nasheman School, Heads of all F.G. Schools and a large number of students witnessed the ceremony.
Addressing the occasion, Taufeeq Secretary Sports Control Board said that keeping in view the vision of Chairman POF Board that besides academic education, students should also take part in sports activities as well, POF Sports Control Board has arranged School sports gala in which 4,000 students from 110 schools of Wah Cantt including POF Model School, Beacon House, Nasheman School, Sir Syed School, Gillani School and all schools of F.G.will take part.
Hockey competitions at F.G. School No 7, Cricket at oval ground and rest of the games will be played at POF Welfare Club. Secretary Sports further told that 15 days training camp has been organised after the conclusion of the sports competitions in which POF coaches will give training to the students in terms of their physical fitness. At the end of the ceremony, students of Beacon House displayed Joddo Karattay and the female students participated in 100 meter race. Kainat Naz of F.G. School took first position in 100 meter race.-PR
