PVDP observes World Water Day

The Pakistan Village Development Program (PVDP), in collaboration with Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), on Monday observed World Water Day here at Banda Sheikh Ismail union council, Mohib Banda, in district Nowshera. The purpose of the event was creation of awareness among masses about the importance of water consumption, reduction in wastage of clean drinking water and growing challenges in urban area and flood affected area in this regard.
The participants were informed through pictorial and demonstration session methods of reservations of water and difference between dirty and clean water and its use. The participants were also briefed by community focal persons about the ongoing activities of the WASH project. A volunteers group would spread the world water day message to other community women in the area.
In his concluding remarks, chief guest Mrs Arbab extended special gratitude to PVDP and organisers for arranging such an informative and constructive event. She praised the initiative of ongoing WASH project (installation of 450 latrines and 170 hand pumps by PVDP, which will cater needs of vulnerable community in union council Muhib Banda & Aman Kot).
