D G Khan blast, dismissal of junior doctors: JI submits adjournment motions in Senate

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Monday submitted two adjournment motions in Senate Secretariat against the suicide bombings in the shrine of Hazrat Syed Sultan Sakhi Sarwar in D.G. Khan and termination of 146 junior doctors by the Punjab government.
The issues have been raised in two separate adjournment motions submitted by senators Professor Khurshid Ahmed, Professor Ibrahim and Afia Zia. In the first motion, the senators have expressed concerns over the twin suicide attacks in the Shrine of Hazrat Syed Sultan Sakhi Sarwar in which 46 people including women and children were killed.
They stated that the series of suicide attacks have been started after the release of Raymond Davis against the wishes of the people of Pakistan, adding that religious places are particularly being targeted.
In the second motion, they stated that the strike of the doctors had entered in its 35th day, while the government was reluctant to take their demands seriously. They stated that it was strange to terminate a huge number of doctors instead of fulfilling their demands. They praised the junior doctors for resuming their duties after the twin blasts in the shrine. The senators urged the Chairman Senate to allow discussion on the two issues of public importance in the current session of the House by suspending the routine agenda.
