President Asif Ali Zardari has taken serious notice of the textile industry gas supply suspension and constituted a committee to oversee gas load management of SNGPL mandating that any further gas load shedding would be done with the approval of the committee.
Referring to the decision of the meeting dated 28th March 2011, the President Secretariat has constituted a committee comprising Syed Khurshid Shah, Minister for Religious Affairs, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Gohar Ejaz, Chairman APTMA and Anwar Saifullah, MPA, KPK, to oversee gas load management of SNGPL and mandating that any further gas load shedding would be done with the approval of the committee.
However, the SNGPL is still issuing a schedule for 3.5 days gas supply arbitrarily and contradicting clear-cut directions from the President for providing uninterrupted gas supply to textile for five days a week. In a letter to the MD SNGPL, Chairman APTMA Gohar Ejaz has taken serious notice of the gas supply suspension to the textile industry arbitrarily by the SNGPL and said that the SNGPL was defying President''s direction.
