Provisional figures: revenue collection crosses Rs one trillion in July-March
The revenue collection of the Federal Board of Revenue has crossed Rs 1 trillion during July-March (2010-11), according to provisional data compiled by the FBR here on Thursday. Sources told Business Recorder on Thursday that the monthly provisional collection of the FBR has reached Rs 123 billion in March 2011 against Rs 95 billion in the same period last fiscal year, reflecting an increase of Rs 28 billion.
Break-up of monthly collection revealed that the FBR has collected Rs 55 billion as direct taxes, Rs 43 billion as sales tax, Rs 9 billion as federal excise duty (FED) and provisionally collected Rs 16 billion as customs duty during March 2011. The revenue collection would further increase after compilation of final figures in coming days, sources added.
