IDPs observe World Tuberculosis Day

Pakistan Village Development Programme (PVDP) in collaboration with Unicef organised a function in Jalozai IDPs camp to observe World TB Day. The purpose of the function was to create awareness amongst the IDPs of Bajaur Agency against the deadly disease and treatment for the patients.
The function was attended by children of the Life Skill Based Training centres of the camp. Manager Operations, PVDP, Ziaullah Khan was the chief guest while project manager, Zafar Islam and project co-ordinator, Tehsin Akbar were also present.
Addressing the function, Manager Operations, PVDP, Ziaullah Khan said that TB is not incurable disease, saying timely preventive measures can help cured the patients. Terming TB a silent killer, he said that the disease claim millions of lives each year in the world. He made it clear that in modern scientific era the disease could be easily prevented. Earlier, health experts highlighted causes preventive measures against the diseases.-PR
