At least two persons including a chief security officer of the provincial minister for local government, Agha Siraj Durrani were killed in different incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Wednesday. According to details, the victim Mohammad Imran 35, son of Manzoor Ahmed, a resident of Mohammadi Colony, Block 8 Azizabad was targeted by four unknown assailants when he was on the way to Masjid for offering Asr prayers.
Resultantly, he sustained multiple bullets on his upper torso and succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said the deceased was also a security guard of the Khalid Shahansha, who was gunned down near his residence in Defence in 2008 and added that after Shahansha's killing, the deceased served at chief security officer of Durrani.
Police said the culprits used 9mm pistol for the purpose of his killing. No case was registered till the filing of this story. After the said incident, tension prevailed in the locality and a heavy contingent of law enforcers cordoned off the area to avert any untoward situation. Scores of PPP leaders, workers and supporters reached to the hospital and victim's residence. A vice-prayers leader (Naib Pesh Imam) of Quba Masjid Orangi Town was gunned down in the limits of Iqbal Market police station.
The deceased 43 years old Qamar Huda, son of Shamsul Haq, a resident of Chishti Nagar, Orangi Town, was killed when he was going to meet with the Pesh Imam of Jama Masjid Ghousia Noor located in the same area. The victim, who belonged to Barelvi school of thought and hailed from Punjab, was serving as vice-prayers leader (Naib Pesh Imam) at Quba Masjid located in sector 11, Orangi Town.
