Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday busted a gang of illegal arms dealers and seized huge cache of weapons and fake license books during raid. This was stated by CID SSP Mazhar Mashwani at a press conference at his office on Wednesday.
He said the gang was accused of providing illegal weapons to different criminal groups with the connivance of legal arm dealers in Karachi. He disclosed the names of detained persons, saying that Shahzado Bhalkani and Dhabani alias Rabbani. Mashwani were arrested in a raid at Cantonment Station near Mehran Hotel.
He said the team of CID had recovered seven riffles of 12 bore, seven fake arms license books and several rounds during raid. Mashwani further said the gang had close connections with different terrorist groups in the city, whom they supplied weapons. Moreover, he said that both arrestees, who belonged to Kashmore, revealed during interrogation that other members of the gang were also present in city. Keeping this in view, the police have started conducting raids to nab them, he added.
