The Karachi Port handled 90,883 tonnes of cargo including 36,634 tonnes of import cargo, 54,249 tonnes of export cargo and 4,523 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 36,634 tonnes comprised of 32,339 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,095 tonnes of wheat and 1,200 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 54,249 tonnes comprised of 37,321 tonnes of containerised cargo; 177 tonnes of general cargo; 14,021 tonnes of bulk cargo: 3,229 tonnes of cement; 10,792 tonnes of wheat and 2,730 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Seven ships namely MOL Seabreeze, African Wildcat, APL Ruby, Bunga Raya Empat, Oriental Wisteria, Golden Crest and CSL Ride with containers, bulk cargo, two container ships, two oil tankers and containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Golden Crest, Hyundai Highness, Kota Singa and Marilena carrying oil tanker, two container ships and oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Marilena, Eastern Frontier, Bunga Raya Tiga, OEL Shreyas and Abtin-1 carrying chemicals, general cargo, and three container ships respectively expected to sail on Tuesday, while three ships namely Kota Singa, Hyundai Highness and Phoenix Island-II with two container ships and general cargo respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Three vessels viz Neverland Sun, Abtin-1 and Alliance Norfolk carrying LSFO, containers and vehicle carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while seven vessels viz Abadeh, Kormel, STX Patraikos, Manila Express, Almathea, HS Challenger and Yong Sheng with crude oil, ethanol, four container ships and general cargo carrier respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
A total number of six vessels viz CV Antje Wulff, MV Alaska-II, MV Tycoon, MT Golden Ambrosia, MT Bunga Azalea and MT Al-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, chemicals, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours. Two ships namely Nedlloyd Tasman and Fow Airet carrying containers are currently at the outer anchorage.
A total number of two vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Tasman and CV Fow Airet carrying containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Tuesday. A container ship namely CV Al-Noof due to arrive on Tuesday, while three more container ships namely CV CMA CGM Quartz, CV Aruni Rickmers and CV MSC Aurelie are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
