Moonis's remand extended for four days

Published Updated

A magistrate on Thursday extended the remand of PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi for another four days. On Thursday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) official requested for a six-day physical remand, contending that the FIA had evidence and witnesses against the accused and FIA in its investigation found that Mooni was involved in the land scam.
The counsel for Moonis, however, submitted that Moonis had nothing to do with the affairs of National Insurance Company Limited (NICL). He said that all the allegations against his client were baseless and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had not any proof of his involvement in the scam.
He alleged that Additional Director General (ADG) FIA Zafar Ahmed had an enmity with the accused's family and the ADG created fake evidence to implicate him in the cases. He, therefore, said there was no need to grant his further physical remand. The court, however, i handed over Moonis to the FIA for four-day on physical remand.
