NH&MP recover three cars, arrest four culprits

National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) has recovered three stolen/snatched cars and one Shehzor pick-up and arrested four culprits with arms and ammunitions from different parts of the country.
A spokesperson of the NH&MP said on Thursday Senior Patrolling Officer (SPO) Iftikhar Hussain and Patrolling Officer (PO) Shafqat Ali were on their own routine duty at Sial More on Motorway (M-2). They saw a Suzuki Mehran Car No LEA 5371 which was over-speeding and signalled to stop but the driver instead of stopping, tried to run away. However, on chasing by Motorway Police officers, they succeeded to stop the said car and arrested one culprit namely Javed Iqbal s/o Allah Ditta. In another incident a white Corolla car No LEB-9249 model 2010 has been stolen from Phool Nagar, Kasur, further more tracker system was also installed in the said car which was showing that the said car was moving on Motorway (M-2) and requested for help in recovering the car. On this information the Motorway Police put patrolling officers NH&MP on high alert.
Aftera few minutes, the NH&MP officers SPO Qaiser Mushtaq and PO Hamid Khan saw the said car at (M-2) in the area of Sheikhupura, and arrested three culprits namely Usman S/o Qaiser Khan, Naveed s/o Muhammad Rafiq and Masood s/o Muhammad Ismail r/o Lahore and also recovered illegal arms and ammunitions.
In another incident, NH&MP officers were on their routine duty on Motorway (M-2) in the area of Ravi Toll Plaza, the NH&MP officers saw white corolla car No IDG-3614 model 1994 which was parked on the hard shoulder and no one was present there. However, on search a telephone number was found and dialed, which revealed that the said car was stolen from Wahdat Colony police station, Lahore Wednesday night. The NH&MP officers took the car into their custody and inform the owner of the car. In another similar incident, Motorway police was informed by Local Police that a white colour Shehzor pick-up has been stolen from Faisalabad, and requested for help in recovering the said Shehzor pickup. On this information the Motorway Police got alerted all its patrolling officers.
The NH&MP officers SPO Muhammad Abdullah and PO Muhammad Iqbal saw the said pick-up at (M-3) which was parked on the hard shoulder and no one was present there. The Motorway Police also informed the concerned Local Police about all these inc Motorway Police handed over the recovered vehicles and arms arrested plus ammunition in the presence of the owners to the concerned Local Police for further legal action.
The Inspector General, NH&MP Dr Wasim Kausar has appreciated the performance of the officers who took part in these episodes and announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for them.
