Swiss franc dips versus euro

Published Updated

The Swiss franc tracked the euro, rattled by ongoing concerns about Portuguese debts, down against the greenback on Thursday, with the market significantly short dollar, traders said.
The euro pulled further away from a 4-1/2 month high versus the dollar on heightened worries that political instability in Portugal may force it to become the latest country in the region to seek a European Union bailout. The franc was down 0.3 percent against the euro compared to the New York close, trading at 1.2831 per euro at 0755 GMT. The franc was down 0.4 percent against the dollar at 0.9120 per dollar.
