The Karachi Port handled 100,323 tonnes of cargo including 54,677 tonnes of import cargo, 45,646 tonnes of export cargo and 3,094 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 54,677 tonnes comprised of 12,273 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of general cargo; 21,963 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,963 tonnes of canola seeds; 19,000 tonnes of coal and 20,421 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 45,646 tonnes comprised of 22,109 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of general cargo; 23,517 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,818 tonnes of cement; 5,760 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 9,068 tonnes of wheat and 6,871 tonnes of rice.
Six ships namely Samin-1, MT Lahore, Bunga Raya Satu, Cape Manuel, Tandis and APL Amman with containers, oil tanker and four container ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. One bulk cargo carrier namely Queen Arrow-1 is currently at the berths.
One bulk cargo carrier namely Queen Arrow-1 expected to sail on Tuesday, while two ships namely Syria Star and New Legend Sun with rice and cement are expected to sail on Wednesday. Two container vessels viz President Folk and Ocean Promoter due to arrive on Tuesday, while nine vessels viz Nagogini, Jey Hope, Quetta, Shamrock Jupiter, Cap Gabriel, Conti Asia, Cape Sorrell, OEL Trust and Ocean Island with ethanol, chemicals, crude oil, ethanol, four container ships and coal respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.
PORT QASIM: The Port Qasim handled 65,972 tonnes of cargo includes 41,802 tonnes of import cargo, 24,170 tonnes of export cargo and 1,343 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 41,802 tonnes includes 33,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 3,697 tonnes of chemicals; 500 tonnes of coal and 4,605 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 24,170 tonnes includes 6,195 tonnes of cement; 5,543 tonnes of rice and 12,432 tonnes of containerised cargo. A container ship namely CV CSAV Ranquil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two more ships namely MT Anette Kosan and MT Al-Soor-II are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV CMA CGM Massi, CV CSAV Ranquil, MV Alaska-II, MV Saphire-II, MV Hyang Ro Bong, MV Four Nabucco, MT Anette Kosan and MT Al-Soor-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Mass Merit, Al-Khalidia, CMA CGM Mozart, Deira and MSC Oslo carrying canola seeds, furnace oil and three container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV CMA CGM Mozart, CV Deira, CV Al-Mutanabbi and MT Al-Khalidia carrying three container ships and furnace oil carrier respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Tuesday. Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Puccini, CV ACX Hibiscus and MT Mako are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Wednesday.
