The Karachi Port handled 341,467 tonnes of cargo including 220,596 tonnes of import cargo, 120,871 tonnes of export cargo and 6,658 loaded & empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargo of 220,596 tonnes comprised of 84,908 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,318 tonnes of general cargo; 38,551 tonnes of bulk cargo: 12,329 tonnes of canola seeds; 3,022 tonnes of rock phosphate; 22,200 tonnes of coal and 93,819 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 120,871 tonnes comprised of 86,210 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,357 tonnes of general cargo; 25,604 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,137 tonnes of cement and 7,792 tonnes of wheat; 11,873 tonnes of rice and 5,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Ital Oceano, Alliance Beaumont, TS Dubai, Liberty Promise, Sea Baise, CSL Ride, Shoko Maru, OOCL Charleston, Al-Mirqab, APL Sharjah, Dongbu Promy-2 and Positano with containers, vehicles, cement, talc powder, containers, ethanol, three container ships, chemicals and containers sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Thirteen vessels viz Cape Manual, Al-Mirqab, Bunga Raya Satu, Samin-1, Hyundai Confidence, APL Amman, Tandis, MT Lahore, Liberty Promise, Ocean Host, Aligote, Dongbu Promy-2 and African Wildcat carrying seven container ships, crude oil, vehicles, coal, mogas, chemicals and wheat respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Tandis and Al-Amman carrying two container ships and oil tanker respectively expected to sail on Monday, while four ships namely Aligote, Nikiti, Hyundai Confidence and Ocean Host with cement, containers and rice are expected to sail on Tuesday. Three vessels viz King Douglas, Netsanet and Queen Arrow-1 carrying Naphtha, MOP and cement respectively due to arrive on Monday, while four vessels viz Iron Monger-5, President Folk, Ocean Promoter and Honor with crude oil, two container ships and vehicles respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV Maersk Wyoming, MV Hyang Ro Bong, MV Saphire-II, MV Four Nabucco, MT Enrico Evoli, MT SC Shenzhen, MT Al-Soor-II and MV Nikolos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, palm oil, chemicals, diesel oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely Mass Merit, Al-Khalidia, Anette Kosan, Alaska-II, CMA CGM Massi and CSAV Ranquil carrying canola seeds, furnace oil, chemicals, cement and two container ships respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV CMA CGM Massi, CV CSAV Ranquil, MV Alaska-II and MT Anette Kosan scheduled to load/offload containers and cement respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Monday. Three container ships namely CV CMA CGM Mozatr, CV Deira and CV Al-Mutanabbi are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
