P&T gymkhana overwhelmed SPM colts by 60 runs to clinch the final of first SPM Club Cricket on Monday. P&T gymkhana gave no room to rivals in the final at Ali Garh Ground, Model Town after raced to 314-9 in allotted 75 overs. The chief guest Shafiq Ahmed Papa, PCB General Manager, presented man of the match award to Khaqan Arsal for fine batting display.
P&T gymkhana took Rs 100,000 award through skipper Waqas Ahmed while SMP skipper Qaiser Abbas pocketed Rs 50,000. Khaqan made unbeaten 135 in big total while Waqas Ahmed 55, Muhammad Saeed 34 were other noticable scorers. Qaiser Abbas 2/42, Hammad Azam 2/56 were main wicket takers for SPM who were all out for 254 with Umar Ameen 45, Qaiser Abbas 29, Naveed Alam 29, Muhammad Talha 29, Shahid Anwar 25. For winners Ruhail Ali took 7/112, Kashif Dawood 2/49. While talking on this occasion, Syed Azhar Zaidi, former Pakistan cricket team manager and head of P&T gymkhana said: "We played a solid game and we gradually looked more comfortable as the game unfolded.
