Travel Agents Association of Pakistan (TAAP) has strongly opposed the imposition of 15 percent flood tax and 2.5 percent federal excise duty by the government. Chairman, TAAP, Yahya Polani in a statement said that members of business community and working class are already groaning under the burden of heavy taxes and taxing them further would increase public distrust and unrest.
He urged the apex trade body to take up the matter with the government on urgent basis and plead that this untimely tax is abolished forthwith. It may become impossible for the people to bear the burden of taxes any more, he said.
