The Karachi Port handled 124,884 tonnes of cargo including 83,413 tonnes of import cargo, 41,471 tonnes of export cargo and 5,388 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The total import cargo of 83,413 tonnes comprised of 55,573 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,755 tonnes of general cargo; 10,596 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,706 tonnes of canola seeds; 1,890 tonnes of rock phosphate and 15,489 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,471 tonnes comprised of 20,513 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,258 tonnes of general cargo; 17,760 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,435 tonnes of cement and 4,731 tonnes of wheat; 6,797 tonnes of rice and 1,940 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Five ships namely Sky Dream, Al-Saada, Lodestar Genesis, Warnow Moon and Adventure with two base oil carriers, oil tanker, wheat and oil tanker sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Eight vessels viz TS Dubai, OOCL Charleston, Positano, APL Sharjah, CSL Ride, Ital Ocean, Shoko Maru and Alliance Beaumont carrying six container ships, ethanol and vehicle carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Alliance Beaumont and TS Dubai carrying vehicle carrier and containers respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while four ships namely Sea Baisi, CSL Ride, OOCL Charleston and Shoko Maru with talcom powder, two container ships and ethanol are expected to sail on Sunday.
Six vessels viz MT Lahore, Dongbu Promy-2, Al-Mirqab, Samin-1, Cape Manual and Ocean Host carrying crude oil, chemicals, three container ships and coal respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while six vessels viz Nogogini, Iron Monger-5, Hyundai Confidence, Bunga Raya Satu, APL Amman and African Wildcat with ethanol, crude oil, three container ships and wheat respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
Two ships namely CV Saudi Tabuk and MV Alfa Nourios sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while three ship namely CV Glory, MV Xin Xiang Hai and MT SC Liaoning are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz CV Glory, CV Saudi Tabuk, MV Hyang Ro Bong, MV Saphire-II, MV Alfa Nourios, MV Xin Xiang Hai, MT SC Liaoning, MT Akaki and MV Nikolos are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, urea, chemicals, furnace oil and coal respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely Mass Merit, Al-Khalidia, Enrico Evoli and Four Nabucco carrying canola seeds, furnace oil, phosphoric acid and rice respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of three vessels viz CV Hammonia, MT SC Shenzhen and MT Enrico Evoli scheduled to load/offload containers, palm oil and phosphoric acid respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Saturday. A container ship namely CV Maersk Wyoming due to arrive on Saturday, while two more container ships namely CV CMA CGM Massi and CV CSAV Ranquil are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Monday.
