Two more matches were decided in 13th National Seniors Cricket Cup, as Okara Seniors and Sialkot Seniors Stallion earned full points in North and Central Punjab Zone. In Central Punjab Zone's Group-A, Okara Senior proved too smart for Lahore Shaheen at Model Town White Ground after piling up 249-5 in 30 overs.
Man of the Match Hafiz Ejaz 87 not out, Haji Zafar 63 not out, Muhammad Safdar 43 were main scorers. Zafar Iqbal took 2/39, Muhammad Arshed 2/48 but their team Shaheen replied with 211 only. Ather 51, Dr Imran 40, Rana Shahid, Zafar Iqbal 25, Shaukat Ali 22 were main contributors.
In Group-A of North Punjab Zone, Sialkot Stallion earned 3-wicket win over Gujrat. Gujrat made 212-5 with Farooq Azam 60 but Sialkot caught the target with 214-7. Tariq Butt stroked 45 for winning alongwith 43 not out by Man of the Match Javed Iqbal.
Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA)' Chief Executive Officer Ashiq Qureshi said that only those players who are 40 years or above on the day of the match are eligible to participate in the 13th National Senior Cup. The age of players will be certified through Computerised NIC. In addition, only those players who have stopped playing first class cricket since 14 March 2009 are eligible to participate in the tournament.
