At least three persons were killed and two others injured in separate incidents here on Friday in different areas of the city. According to details, a man was killed and two others including a minor girl were injured when a gas cylinder exploded in the limits of Surjani Town police station.
The incident took place in a double-storey residential building located at Khuda Ki Basti, Phase II in the jurisdiction of Surjani Town police station. The gas cylinder, which was placed at the roof of the house, exploded when the owner, Hazoor Baksh dragged it to clean a water tank. His relative Tariq, 25, son of Nawaz was killed and two others including his five-year-old daughter Sana and Arshad, 30, were injured.
Police said the roof of the water tank collapsed the explosion, which killed the man and injured the others. The deceased and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital for autopsy and treatment. Police said the deceased, who hailed from Bahwalpur, was the relative of Hazoor Baksh.
In another incident, four-day old charred body was found from Janjhar Goth within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The identity of victim is yet to be ascertained, while police found the charred body from bushes in Janjhar Goth, near New Subzi Mandi. Police said the victim, who was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem, received single bullet on his head.
Yet another slaughtered body was found from an under construction building in North Karachi in the remits of Sir Syed police station. The victim, who was identified as Rabnawaz, 42, son of Zafar Khan, was the resident of New Karachi. Police found his slaughtered body from under construction house situated at sector 7-D near Hira Mosque. Police said the victim, who was a rickshaw driver, might be targeted by his friends. The body was shifted to ASH for medico legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. No case was registered till filing of this report.
