Australian and New Zealand dollars slip

Published Updated

The Australian and New Zealand dollars slipped to multi-month lows against a surging yen early on Thursday on a cascade of stop-losses and option-related selling, before the risk of intervention helped recoup some losses. The Aussie was last at 77.83 yen, having plumbed a six-month low around 75.00. The Kiwi hit a six-month low around $0.7125, before crawling back to $0.7212.
