Protesting for regularisation: police baton-charge education department's employees

Police on Thursday baton-charged the employees of Sindh Education Department, when they tried to march toward Chief Minister's House in protest against non-regularisation of their services. The employees of Education department under the banner of Lower Staff Association Sindh are protesting for regularisation of their services.
On the third consecutive day of their protest, the employees led by the association president Darya Khan Jamali attempted to march towards CM's House, but police and Rangers baton charged them and used water cannons to restrain them from marching to CM's House. Due to police baton charge, seven protestors were injured while 17 were arrested.
On the other hand, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq says it is a district level dispute and the employees should approaches EDOs for their rightful demands. These lower staffs have been appointed on personal influence as well as on illegal recommendations. He says the government has evolved a mechanism to regularise them and as per the mechanism, they have to take written test and appear in interviews. Those who will pass the test and interview will be regularised, he added.
