Environment Protection Department (EPD) of the city district government issued notices to four dye units operating near Shahdara. EPD sources told newsmen on Thursday that those dye units were working without any proper waste disposal and the untreated effluents thrown in the vicinity had rendered life of the residents miserable. In response to complaints, a team of EPD visited the site, inspected the state of affairs and served closure notices to the four units.
