March 15 strike: Sindh Assembly resolution only against Nisar's remarks, says Qaim

Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali on Thursday tried to dispel the impression, which judiciary and common people had taken from March 15 strike, saying the government had no intentions to criticise the court's verdicts and the Sindh Assembly's resolution was only against Chaudhry Nisar for his inapt remarks.
Speaking during the Sindh Assembly's session, he said, the members of the ruling PPP had censured only the Opposition leader in National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan through a unanimous resolution for his non-parliamentary remarks on political grounds. He said the government had reverence for the judiciary and had no intentions to criticise its decisions.
He said Sindh Assembly's resolution against Chaudhry Nisar had been the house privilege to exercise, as Punjab Assembly had also passed such moves in the past. Regarding the shutter-down strike in Karachi and other parts of Sindh on Friday, March 11 a day after the superior court's verdict came against the appointment of chief of National Accountability Bureau, he said it was "spontaneous" and by individuals.
He said the government or any other organisation had no role in calling the strike. The violent strike left private property damaged and around a dozens people dead. Qaim Ali Shah said PPP had struggled for the independence of judiciary and offered sacrifices in the movement against a military dictator.
He assured the house that the ruling PPP would adhere to the Constitution during its while performing its responsibilities, adding judiciary was one of the main state pillars interpreting the law, which assemblies framed. CM Sindh said the PPP government had fulfilled demands and made 18th and 19th Constitutional Amendments, saying "we should encourage the government for its efforts," as there were many problems including poor law and order and fragile economy.
Earlier, the house unanimously passed a bill into law which was about establishing of the Shahdadpur Institute of Medical Sciences Bill, 2011. Sindh Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Muhammad Ayaz Soomro presented it the house. According to the Bill copy, the hospital would consist of a diabetic care centre, blood transfusion centre, paediatric ward, coronary care unit, intensive car unit, chest ward and hepatitis sentinel site.
The hospital is seen best healthcare services provider in the area it is located, besides the government hopes it would also cater to the needs of people of other adjacent districts. The proposed institute will also provide teaching in principles of medical sciences with emphasis in nursing, medics, paramedics, house job doctors, and refresh courses of bio-medics. The medical institute would also carry out and promote research surveys experiments and demonstrations in the field of medical sciences.
Marvi Rashid and Nusrat Sehar Abbasi of PML-F, Heer Ismail Soho of MQM, Muhammad Rafiq Advocate and Muzzafar Shujra of PPP besides the entire house supported the bill and said it would reduce public healthcare problems. Parliamentary leader of MQM, Syed Sardar Ahmed said his party was celebrating the 28th founding day on Friday (today) and paid tribute to his party's chief Altaf Hussain and activist laid their lives during the struggle.
Ayaz Soomro said he on behalf of his party congratulated MQM for its founding day being celebrated on March 18 (today). Marvi Rashdi also congratulated MQM and invited the house attention towards the public healthcare issues as doctors in parts of Sindh province were running their private medical facilities and had abandoned work at the public sector hospitals. The Speaker, Nisar Khohro prorogued the session for indefinite period.
