Protests erupt in Islamabad after acquittal of Raymond Davis from a double murder and people have shown anger towards the government decision to release the CIA Contractor. Students of International Islamic University Islamabad strongly resented the acquittal of Davis and hold a protest rally from H-11 Campus of the University.
The students, both male and female were reinforced by a large number of people hailing from both Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which has strengthened the rally. The angry students were chanting slogans against America, Federal and Provincial Governments for the release of Raymond Davis. The angry demonstrators blocked Kashmir Highway and burnt tyres and marched on Kashmir Highway towards the diplomatic enclave.
JI and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf also hold protest demonstrations outside National Press Club. During the protest the demonstrating political workers burned the effigy of Raymond Davis. JI women wing also holds protest demonstration at Murree Road Rawalpindi and suspended the traffic on this busiest road.
