Pakistan Consul General (PCG) in Japan Asad Gilani on Tuesday said that Pakistan is holding talks with the Japanese Government for providing them aid. Talking to a private news channel, he said that a team of Pakistan Embassy is visiting the nuclear plant in affected areas and it will submit its report by Tuesday night.
To a question, Asad said that the Government of Japan has not issued any emergency warning, but Pakistanis in Japan as a precaution may return home by commercial flights. Asad said around 200 Pakistanis lived in Sendai, Iwate and Fukushima areas and a team from the Pakistan Embassy left for Sendai on Tuesday to assess the situation and welfare of Pakistanis. The embassy is in contact with all the 9,500 Pakistanis living in Japan, he added.
