'Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) will conduct Mock Papers for the secondary students for the first time in the board's history on March 25 in town-wise centres of the city', Anzar Hussain Zaidi, Chairman Board of Secondary Education Karachi explained in a press briefing here on Monday.
It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that in pursuance of directives of Governor Sindh who is the Controlling Authority of Educational Boards in Sindh, the BSEK has carried out an exercise with a view to reduce examination centres from 431 to 170.
It has been said that such action has been taken to conduct the examination in a better organised manner and proper security could be provided to these reduced centres, which according to board was not possible effectively if the centres are fixed in small units.
Accordingly, the board initially has reduced and fixed Examination Centres fom 431 to 170 numbers in prominent and big schools keeping in view Town wise influx of students.
Further, the board has decided to conduct a Mock Examination which will be conducted in the subject of English (C) Science Group of SSC Part-I (Class IX) for those students who desire to appear at Annual Examination-2011.
The said examination will be conducted at around 170 Examination Centres. From those 170 centers 98 for boys and 72 for girls are set up in 18 Towns of Karachi. The admit cards for the papers will be released town-wise. On 18th of March, 2011 admit cards for New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg, Liaquatabad, Jamshed Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and SITE Town will be released. Whereas on 19th of March, 2011, admit cards for Keamari, Lyari, Korangi, Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Saddar, Shah Faisal Town, Landhi, Malir, Bin Qasim, and Qadap will be released.
Meeting with Centre Superintendents will be scheduled on 19th March, 2011 in the Conference Hall of the board at 11:00 am. Meanwhile BSEK has requested to all the heads of recognised secondary schools to send their representatives along with authority letter to collect the admit cards from counters set-up at ground floor of the board on the dates mentioned above and ensure compulsory 100% appearance of their students in the Mock examination on scheduled date noted above.
Later, while talking to media persons the Chairman BSEK said this Mock Paper is a test for students as well as for Board, we are testing some thing new in an approach to bring out some thing better this test will shows the strong and weak points of this test which later b improved in the annual papers.
The vigilance team will go to the centers to check the standard of the centers and if they found any lacking it would be improved at the earliest. We are experimenting some thing new and have hopes to get better results, but if not then will improve our methods and procedures in future, Anzar Hussain Zaidi, Chairman Board of Secondary Education Karachi concludes.
