The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set up a Container Freight Station (CFS) at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi for handling of containerised cargo to expedite clearance of imported consignments. In this regard, the FBR has issued SRO 194(I)/2011 here on Monday.
According to the notification, the Board has declared that provisions of aforesaid sections shall apply to M/s Fast Track Projects and Logistics (Pvt) Ltd, Karachi. The FBR will set up a Container Freight Station (CFS) at plot No W-3/1, N.W. Industrial Zone, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi for handling containerised cargo imported through M/s Qasim International Containers Terminal (QICT) at Port Qasim, Cargo in less than container load (LCL) or loose form shall be released at CFS. Full container load (FCL) cargo in container when brought to the CFS shall be scanned at QICT and brought back, with report attached, to CFS for further necessary action by Customs at CFS, subject to fulfilment of all the conditions, as notified by the Collector of Custom, Port Muhammad Bin Qasim, Karachi, through a standing order issued, from time to time, notification added.
